12 Days of Christmas: Day 7 | 2017 | A Guide to Surviving the Holidays
The time between Halloween and New Year’s are some of the most exciting and happy times of the year. However, there’s so much going on that sometimes it can feel a bit overwhelming. Sometimes it’s hard to remember to take care of yourself first when you’re so busy worrying about thanksgiving dinners, Black Friday sales, cookie baking, Christmas shopping, and so much more. This makes it easy to forget to keep up with our own health and beauty routines and even to just survive.
Recently I read the article, How to Survive the Holiday Season Beautifully by the Ogle School, a cosmetology and esthetics educational institution. This gave me so many great tops on how to survive the holidays through some great beauty hacks. Reading this inspired me to think of even more helpful actions to survive the holidays without going crazy, (or broke.)
The best tip to have everything else fall into place: avoid stress at all costs. It’s no doubt that the holidays can be stressful with so much to do, having enough money for all the amazing presents you want for your friends and family, and having enough time to do all the fun activities.
The number one thing to avoid stress is to avoid breaking the bank. If you’re like me and you love giving presents just as much as you love getting them, it could add up really quick when you’re buying for everyone you know. To help you out I put together a list of gifts from Amazon for under $10. Hopefully these will help you to get awesome gifts for your friends and family without going broke.
- Panasonic Wired Earphones – Wired , Red (RP-HJE125-R)
- Pack of 50 Cactus Succulents Seeds, ALL Succulent Varieties Mix, Small (Comes with Free How to Live Stress Free Ebook)
- PopSockets: Expanding Stand and Grip for Smartphones and Tablets – Black
- Wrapables Thick Knitted Winter Warm Infinity Scarf – Burgundy
- HISDERN Plaid Tie Handkerchief Woven Classic Men’s Necktie & Pocket Square Set (Navy Blue)
Relax & Treat Yourself
During the holiday season we put so much work into doing things and buying things for other people that sometimes we forget to take a break and treat ourselves. To avoid going crazy during the season it’s a good idea to take a night off and pamper yourself. And maybe even spend a little extra to buy yourself a present too.
- Take a bubble bath
- Do a face mask
- Light relaxing scent candles
- Have a slumber party and give each other manicures
- Read a good book
Eat Healthy Foods
My post yesterday was all about my favorite holiday cookies. Soo that’s the perfect example of the typical diet many of us follow throughout the holidays. It’s not a bad thing to indulge in these amazing treats, but remember to keep up a balanced diet throughout the season.
Healthy Holiday Recipes
I’m a big believer that getting up everyday and putting on cute clothes and putting on some makeup will always make you feel more positive and more productive. This goes along with caring for your skin and being sure to keep up with your daily beauty routines, even when life gets a little busy.
How to Survive the Holiday Season Beautifully gives amazing tips on this such as getting enough sleep and moisturizing!
It’s no doubt that the holiday season is a very busy time, making it super easy to slack off on self-care or go broke with all the shopping. I hope these tips help you to survive the rest of this holiday season! Tell me in the comments your tips and hacks for surviving the holiday season.
Happy Surviving everyone!
